Welcome!
Remember us?
AnotherNet was founded in 1995 as the first family-oriented Internet Relay Chat network. AnotherNet staff members were trained to be helpful and kind to the users who visited the network, yet tough as nails to those who abused the service or other users.
We shutdown our network, regrettably, in 1998 due to irreconcilable issues with the IRC protocol of the day, bandwidth issues, and lack of dedicated staff members to keep the network on the path that was originally laid out, but we're back!
In more recent years, AnotherNet has been very active managing and hosting XMPP-based instant messaging services, VOIP-based PBX systems, and traditional PSTN connectivity for the commercial market. We were acquired by Silicon Dairy, LLC. in 2002.
A decade after our flagship network was dismantled, we've soft-relaunched our IRC network, which can be connected to via irc://irc.us.another.org/. We hope you'll join us.
